I've read a lot of gender theory books and this one actually treats cross-gender play as a tool for growth rather than just a curiosity. The way it's framed for people of all identities and sexes made it useful for me and my partner both.
I picked this up out of curiosity and ended up reading it in two sittings. What surprised me most is how Dr. Vera frames crossing gender as a tool for self-discovery rather than a costume—it's thoughtful and welcoming to any identity. The writing never talks down to you, which I appreciated.
